‘Carry The Load’ Official music video is out!

When we started shooting the video, I was introduced to King and Kai, the stars of the project. I also had the chance to meet Kai’s mum, who opened up to me about their journey. Nearly two years ago, she lost her husband, Kai’s dad, to cancer. Kai’s dad was a capoeira master and had passed down all his knowledge to Kai. Since his father’s passing, Kai had been struggling to heal and had become hesitant to practice capoeira. His mum was genuinely surprised that he agreed to be part of the video.

She explained that King, a close friend of Kai’s father, has taken on a role like an older brother to Kai. She thought that participating in the video might offer some closure for Kai.
I was deeply moved by their story and felt humbled that they chose to be part of our project. We set out to make a cool video with some capoeira, but what we ended up capturing was a powerful moment of healing.

There was so much more to their story that Kai’s mum shared with me, which I won’t go into here, but it is truly a story of faith, hope, and healing. 🤍

My new EP ‘Carry the Load’ is out!

So happy it’s finally out. These songs are a little piece of my heart, putting together some of my feelings and experiences from the past year. Each season brought new themes, and this EP reflects that journey. From the universal pressures and weight of being human, to the tensions of moving and being away from home, to learning about risk and vulnerability, these songs are guided by empathy for myself and others.

Looking back at the past year, I’ve had the opportunity to perform these songs live before their release, and I feel we’ve captured the same energy in the recordings.

My hope is that everyone who listens can see a bit of their own story in mine. 🤍

It’s been a long time coming but it’s finally here… My new EP titled ‘Carry The Load’ is out this Friday and I can’t wait for you to hear it. These songs are some of my best work to date (I think 👀).
